‘Holding Our Breaths Awaiting The Future’ was made in collaboration with co-producer Petra Skibsted aka. Peachlyfe, who has led the duo’s sound in a darker and more electronic direction. In the collision between the edgy techno beats, sharp synths, alluring piano passages and Mathias and Raymonde’s trademark vocals on top, emerges a new sound that is both reassuring and disturbing.
The sound reflects the duo’s ambivalent experiences regarding the future, during the COVID19 lockdowns. Feelings of being in a constant state of tension - holding our breaths, while awaiting the future. The EP includes the single “I Want It All”, featuring L.A based singer and rapper Tolliver, who recently did an outstanding performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS. The EP also includes a tribute to Judith Butler on the track “Gender Trouble” and an ode to “Lost Lilla Lis” - a long time friend and fan of Feel Freeze, who, like most gender minorities, is fighting for the right to be who they are.
